What is the NROC

The National Registry of Coaches (NROC) is Singapore's national coaching database and recognition framework that aims to raise the standard and professionalism of sports coaches in Singapore.

NROC Membership

NROC membership is valid for 3 years, during which coaches are expected to accumulate minimum learning hours in 2 main areas:

  1. Coaching practice and
  2. Coaching education

There are 4 types of NROC membership status:

Status Definition
Active Refers to coaches who have fulfilled all the NROC criteria and membership renewal requirement. 
Inactive Refers to coaches who have fulfilled all the NROC criteria but did not meet the membership renewal requirement, i.e., failed to acquire the required number of learning hours or failed to send in renewed Standard First Aid.
Delisted Refers to coaches who have failed to meet the membership renewal requirement for a continuous period of 9 years. The coach’s name will be removed from the Registry. 
Suspended Refers to coaches who have either breached the Coach’s Code of Ethics or are under investigation, pending a decision from the Board of Inquiry. Re-instatement of membership will be granted on a case-by-case basis.

NROC membership is valid for 3 years. Coaches who fail to renew their membership and remain inactive for ≥ 6 consecutive years will be delisted from NROC.

Delisted coaches can reinstate their membership through 2 pathways:

(A) Re-Assessment Pathway

The reinstatement pathways will be determined through a collaborative decision between the respective NSA and CoachSG.

Application Process

Step 1: Submit Application

Apply via SportSync with your coaching history documentation and indicate your preferred reinstatementpathway.

Step 2: Review & Approval

Your application will be reviewed to verify your previous membership status, assess your coaching background,and confirm your chosen pathway.

Step 3: Complete Requirements

Successfully complete your chosen pathway, submit all required documentation, and pay applicable fees.

 

Additional Requirements for All Applicants

All candidates must obtain the following certifications before reinstatement:

  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate
  • Updated Understanding Safe Sport as a Coach
  • Current Technical Certification as specified by your National Sports Association (NSA)

Implementation

The membership will be reinstated upon approval.
