Participation Coach
The Participation Coach is a skilled professional who designs goal-oriented, athlete-focused coaching sessions. They effectively manage various factors and stakeholders related to the coaching programme to deliver coaching outcomes while applying foundational sport science and coaching pedagogy. These coaches primarily operate in community sports and learn-to-play programmes, fostering learning through play.
Self-driven in their professional development, they view coaching as a viable career path.
Prerequisites
- SG-Coach Theory Level 1
- SG-Coach Technical Level 1
- Foundational Sport Science
or - SG-Coach Full Integration Level 1

If you have substantial coaching experience and relevant qualifications, you may be eligible to apply for direct accreditation through Recognition of Prior Learning or Recognition of Prior Experience.

Before applying for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
Please check if you already possess any of the sports science and/or SG-Coach Theory Level 1 Direct Waivers listed in the 'Frequently Asked Questions' section.
If you already have any of these qualifying credentials, there is no need for you to apply for RPL.
If you hold a National Institute of Education (NIE) Diploma in Physical Education (PE), you do not need to apply for both sports science and SG-Coach L1 Theory accreditations.
Upon completion of the pre-requisites above and the other necessary certifications, you may apply to be a NROC Coach.
