Athlete Monitoring: Unpacking Training Load, Readiness and Outcomes
Attend this workshop to understand how to build an athlete performance monitoring system!
With over 15 years of experience across Singapore, Australia, Japan, and Belgium, Weiliang has seen the world of sport science from different angles. He is currently a sport physiologist at the High Performance Sport Institute, mainly supporting the Swimming and Women’s Water Polo programs. You will also find him on the pitch supporting the Women’s National Football Team or coaching national cyclists. Weiliang is fueled by his passion for high-performance sport and, perhaps more importantly, coffee. He believes that sustainable athletic success are held by 2 critical pillars: true athlete wellbeing and a commitment to long-term talent retention.
Athlete data is abundant but making it useful is the real challenge. This session breaks down how to build an athlete monitoring system that works within your means – moving beyond just "collecting numbers" to understanding what they actually say about your athletes. From securing athlete buy-in to making educated training adjustments, you will walk away with practical ideas to turn data into better coaching decisions.
