I am impressed by Coach Ah Fook's exceptional ability to impart football skills to preschoolers aged 5-6. Initially, I had reservations about the suitability of his methods for young children, but after observing several training sessions, I witnessed the boys demonstrating a clear understanding of advanced concepts such as spatial awareness, triangular formation, and timely passing and shooting. Coach Ah Fook's coaching style, which some might perceive as demanding, is in fact a deliberate approach to foster resilience and discipline in his young players. Notably, my cousin, who was also trained by Coach Ah Fook at a young age, has spoken highly of his coaching expertise. I highly commend Coach Ah Fook for his dedication and skill in nurturing young talent. If I were to nominate him for any coaching awards or recognition, I would wholeheartedly endorse him for his outstanding contributions to youth football development. His passion, patience, and expertise truly make him an exemplary coach worthy of appreciation and accolades.

He was incredibly approachable and friendly, which immediately made a positive impression on both of us. Since then, we've truly enjoyed watching the training sessions on weekends. What stands out most is how Coach Fook manages the group—his ability to maintain discipline while keeping the sessions enjoyable is truly admirable. The balance he strikes creates an environment where the children are both focused and having fun. Even on days when Coach Fook isn't around, my son can sense the difference. His presence brings a level of energy and structure that clearly impacts the kids in a meaningful way. We’re grateful for his dedication and the positive influence he has on the team. Thank you for having such a committed and inspiring coach as part of the program.

My name is Aydin, I’m currently 16 writing this. I joined track just last year, and in that short time, Coach Raisin has already been the most influential coach I’ve ever had. From day one, her dedication, patience, and unwavering belief in every athlete have stood out. She pushes us to our limits, but always in a way that makes us want to be better not just in track, but in life. What sets Coach Raisin apart is how she genuinely cares about each of us as people, not just athletes. She notices when we’re struggling, encourages us when we doubt ourselves, and celebrates our victories, big or small. Even on days when we’re tired or frustrated, she has a way of motivating us to keep going, teaching us discipline, resilience, and the value of hard work. Because of her, I’ve had the chance to compete in competitions I never thought I’d be part of, and I’ve met new friends along the way who have made the experience even more memorable. She’s taught me to push past my limits, stay focused, and believe in my own potential. Beyond athletics, her lessons on perseverance and teamwork have shaped the way I approach challenges in school and in life. Coach Raisin isn’t just a coach. She’s a mentor, a motivator, and someone I truly look up to. I am grateful for every drill, every talk, every bit of encouragement, and for opening doors I didn’t even know existed. Even in just one year, my experience under her guidance has been unforgettable, and I will carry the lessons she’s taught me long after I graduate. Thank you, Coach Raisin, for being the incredible coach and person that you are. Your impact on my life is immeasurable, and I feel lucky to have had you guiding me through my track journey.

I still remember my coach will always try to stay back after sessions and talk to me whenever he is free, guiding me not just in Badminton but in life too. Now I am currently 20 years old, although I am not training with him anymore, we would still hangout together occasionally and he would still try to guide me whenever I have any issues, be it Badminton or other things. Whenever I need someone to talk to, I will always think of him. I believe it is not just me, but most of his students. Many respects him a lot and treats him more than just a coach, a coach that students can look out to and look up to. He is a coach that truly cares about the students, trying his best to help the students, a passionate and responsible coach. I still remember there were many times when I felt like giving up in Badminton and in my studies but he would always be there to listen, and tries his best to help me. Having the trust in me that I can do it. In short, I would like to use this opportunity to recognise what he have done for the Badminton community.

Hi, I would like to share a positive experience with a role model basketball coach who coaches in Yangzheng primary school (boys' team). His name is Wei Jie. My son, Riley from P4E, is a member of the YZPS basketball school team. During one of their training sessions, the boys were being taught to perform a layup by placing the ball behind their backs — a challenging skill, especially for younger players. Riley, being smaller in size and having smaller hands, struggled with this drill and kept dropping the ball. His teammates laughed and started teasing him — something he’s unfortunately faced before. But this time, it was too overwhelming. Riley left the court, went to the toilet, locked himself in a cubicle, and cried. Coach Wei Jie noticed his prolonged absence and personally went with the team to look for him. Upon finding Riley, he spoke gently with him, found out the reason for his distress, and reassured him. Riley then returned to training. What happened next truly moved me — and it’s something I did not expect, especially from an external CCA instructor. Coach Wei Jie stopped the training session and gathered all the boys. He addressed the situation directly and said: “I would like to know who laughed and made fun of Riley’s lay-ups earlier?” After a short pause, a few boys raised their hands. Then he continued: “Today, I’m not standing up for Riley. I’m standing up for all of us. Basketball is a team sport. As a team, we win and lose together. We should not make fun at someone just because they are weaker or make mistakes. Instead, we should help one another especially in bad times” In that moment, he was not just a coach teaching a sport — he was a mentor shaping character, a guide nurturing empathy, and a role model demonstrating what it truly means to be part of a team. To me, this went far beyond his responsibilities as a coach. Mr. Wei Jie taught the boys an invaluable life lesson: how to care for others, how to stand up for what’s right, and how to treat people with kindness and respect. In a world that often emphasizes winning at all costs, it is heartening to see someone remind our children of what it means to be gracious, empathetic, and human. I believe we should celebrate and recognize such actions — not just for what they mean to the individual child, but for the example they set for an entire generation. I do not have Mr. Wei Jie’s contact information and have not had the opportunity to thank him in person. But through this sharing with CoachSG, I hope to extend my heartfelt gratitude, and more importantly, to acknowledge the difference he has made.

Not only has he helped me become a better player on the pitch, he has also instilled values in me that continue to shape who I am off the pitch. Through his guidance, I’ve learned the importance of resilience, respect, and teamwork—principles that extend far beyond football. On the surface, he may be a football coach, but to me and many others he is much more than that. Off the pitch, he speaks to us not just as players, but as individuals. Whether it’s as a friend, a mentor, a brother, or even a father figure, he always makes the effort to connect. What truly sets him apart is his commitment to two-way communication. He doesn’t just talk at us he listens. He makes us feel heard, valued, and understood. Personally, Coach Jasper has been a constant source of support throughout the past year. In moments of doubt or struggle, he believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. His encouragement and trust helped me grow not just into a better footballer, but into a more confident and grounded person. His influence has also transformed our team. Under his mentorship, we’ve become more than just teammates we’ve become a family. He’s built a culture of accountability, unity, and heart. The impact he has made on all of us is deep and lasting, and for that, I’m truly grateful.
